Installation

Sourceweave is built on Ubuntu 22.04 for x86-64 and is intended for Ubuntu 22.04 or newer and compatible Debian desktops.

AppImage: Download the file, open its Properties → Permissions, enable “Allow executing file as program” (or “Is executable”), then double-click it. Choose “Add to Applications” for a Sourceweave launcher and icon, then “Open installed app”. You can pin it to your dock. Choose “Run without installing” if you prefer a portable app.

Ubuntu or Debian: Download the .deb, open it in your software installer, then select Install.

Technical requirements and troubleshooting

The .deb needs WebKitGTK 4.1 (version 2.40 or newer) and json-glib. Account credentials need a desktop Secret Service provider such as GNOME Keyring. AppImage needs a compatible desktop session and may need FUSE support to launch. Browser automation uses X11 or XWayland.

Sourceweave checks for newer Linux releases in the app and verifies updates before installing them.
